historic standards
The Planning &
Development Committee is responsible for review of
proposed projects for compliance with standards within
the Central West End Historic District, works closely
with the 28th Ward Alderman and the City’s Cultural
Resources Office, and provides public forums for the
community on planning and development proposals. Daily
permit activities are reviewed, and business signs,
building facades and modifications to historic homes and
building are carefully monitored. The condition of
properties, sidewalks, lights, streets, sewers, etc.,
are considered and problems are addressed.
